Spring return is not compromised.  Both kits support metal aftermarket pedals no problem.  These are high quality springs.

You also get a 2mm peel and stick kick pedal cover which increases comfort and allows you to play barefoot without the rough plastic feel of the stock pedal.

Also included is a small damper pad for under the foot pedal. Softer spring + damper pad means easier to press and quieter too! Spring is painted black and is designed for heavy repeated compressions so it wont fail you.
